After Bret Hart was forced to leave wrestling due to repeated head injuries, the World Title was declared vacant by Commissioner Kevin Nash on a January edition of Nitro. Many people believed Sid Vicious to be the rightful champion after Souled Out 2000 but Nash said that Sid had to earn the Title. Big Sexy declared that if Sid Vicious could beat The Harris Brothers in one match and then Nash in another, he would be the new World Champ. Against the odds Sid won both matches, only to be stripped of the Title two days later by the Commissioner. In a rematch for the Title that night Sid again beat Kevin Nash and finally earned the right to be the true World Champion aswell as putting Nash out of action.

But this wasn't enough for new Acting Commissioner Jeff Jarrett. Jarrett constantly put Sid Vicious in grueling matches including a Title defence against fellow nWo 2000 member Scott Hall. After Hall tried to win the match, Jarrett turned on him and a 3 way dance match was made by a returning Kevin Nash for SuperBrawl 2000 with Sid defending his Title against both Jarrett and Hall.

Once again, Sid beat the odds and won the match effectively retaining his World Heavyweight Championship. However, The Chosen One was not so easily dissuaded. Once again Acting Commissioner after taking out Kevin Nash, Jarrett made a retmatch between Sid and himself for Uncensored 2000.

The two would clash for the big gold belt in front of 5,000 fans in Miami Florida. The Chosen One stated that without the distractions of other nWo 2000 members he would finally prove he was The Chosen One by beating Sid Vicious. Vicious stated that he was unstoppable and there was no way Jarrett could beat him. Who would be the victor?
